Mrs. Antonina's story

Antonina Tykhonivna is an honest, hard-working woman who gave her whole life to work. Her pension is small, barely enough for the essentials. A Chornobyl survivor: the consequences of the accident undermined her health for good.

Diabetes, hypertension, a stent in her heart; she needs daily medicine all the time. Without it, it becomes unbearable. But there is not enough money: she has to choose between pills and food.

Antonina Tykhonivna walks with a cane and cannot always go to the shop on her own. She needs constant care and help with groceries and medicine. She endures in silence and does not complain.

She still believes that kind people are near.
