1. Who we are

2. What data we collect and why
Donations: email (to sign in to your donor account, which holds the history of your gifts), name (optional), and the amount and date of the gift. Card details are processed by the payment provider. We never see or store them. Requests for help: name, phone, city, description of the need, all of it solely for considering the request. Emails: service emails only, no marketing mailings. The fund sends seven kinds: a sign-in code for the donor account; confirmation that sponsorship is set up; a note on whom and for which month your money went, after each gift and each monthly charge; a warning when a charge fails; confirmation of an amount change; confirmation of cancellation of sponsorship; confirmation of deletion of personal data. The receipt for the payment itself comes from the payment provider, to whom we pass your address to process the payment. You collect the annual statement of gifts yourself in your donor account. There is nothing to subscribe to and nothing to unsubscribe from: a service email arrives only in response to your action.
3. Who we share it with
We sell data to no one. Technical contractors (the payment provider, the email service, hosting) receive the minimum needed to run the service, under data processing agreements.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see how people use the site: which pages they open and at which step they leave the donation form. The service sets its own cookies and receives anonymised visit data; we pass your IP address in anonymised form. We never pass the personal data you enter in forms to analytics. The Google Ads tag counts how many people made a gift or sent a request after seeing the fund's ads, without card details or email. Visitors from the EU, the UK and Switzerland see a banner first, and these cookies are not set until they consent. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page, or in your browser's cookie settings.
5. Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, a correction or deletion. The quickest way to delete data is in your donor account, where there is a separate button that works immediately. If you cannot sign in to your account, write to hello@realhelpfund.org, we reply within 30 days. After deletion your name and address are erased and sign-in to the account stops working, while anonymised records of your gifts remain in the fund's accounts, without your name and address: they are needed for the fund's bookkeeping for past months.
