Mrs. Tetiana, 85

A very kind, patient woman who carried her cross in silence all her life. She started working at 17, with 35 years of work experience in total: as a general labourer on construction sites, a planner-economist at the radio plant, a dispatcher, a distribution clerk. She graduated from a technical college and worked honestly and devotedly.

But the years and illness have taken their toll: type 2 diabetes on insulin, one kidney, thyroid problems, hypertension, neuralgia, two strokes. She needs medicine every day, insulin, tablets, tests, and the pension is meagre. Almost nothing is left for food and basic living. She can still move around a little, but there is no help, no one nearby to share the care.

Hryhorivna endures the pain, does not complain and holds on with her last strength. But in her soul she still believes that there are people who will not walk past another's grief.
