A very sensitive and kind woman who gave all her life to people and work. She started working at 17, with 35 years of work experience in total: a general labourer at a factory, then 8 years in a kindergarten, at a laundry (as a rinser). The pension is small, but one has to live.
She was left alone: a daughter with a disability, a son who is a pensioner. Many illnesses have accumulated: curvature of the spine, ischaemic heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, gynaecological conditions, severe leg pain, osteochondrosis. Medicine and treatment take almost all her money, and very little is left for groceries and basic needs.
Mykolaivna endures in silence, does not complain and tries to hold on. But at 79 every day is a hard struggle with pain and loneliness.
