Larysa YevhenivnaFund helper, knows her personallyVira Pylypivna has been used to hard work all her life. For 32 years she worked as a rigger in a construction department, a profession that demanded physical endurance, attention and great responsibility. She was not afraid of difficult work and worked honestly all her life to provide for her family.
Her greatest pride was her son. From the first days of the full-scale invasion he stood to defend Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces. For Vira Pylypivna this was both a reason for pride and a daily pain and anxiety.
In 2023 her son was killed. After this loss the life of Vira Pylypivna changed for ever. She finds the death of her child very hard to bear, and her health sharply worsened after what she went through.
Today she has many chronic illnesses: loss of sight and hearing, grade 2 arthritis, diabetes. Because of constant pain and weakness it is increasingly hard for her to cope with everyday tasks on her own.
Despite her own pain and tiredness, Vira Pylypivna remembers her son very warmly and continues to live with the belief that his heroic deed will not be forgotten.
