Mrs. Olena's story

She spent 25 years of her life working at a factory that assembled electronic devices. The work demanded great attention, precision and responsibility; every day she did painstaking work for hours, and she treated it honestly and conscientiously.

Today those hands that once worked without rest increasingly ache and no longer have their former strength. Because of hypertension and grade 2 osteochondrosis it is hard for her to move around, do housework and even simply live an ordinary day without pain.

The hardest thing is the constant feeling of lack. The pension is so small that after paying for basic expenses there is often not enough even for groceries. She tries to save on everything, putting her own needs off “for later”.

Despite the difficulties, she is not used to complaining or asking for help. But today it is truly very hard for her. Every day she thinks not about dreams or rest, but only about how to get through one more day and cope with everything on her own.

What Olena will receive each month

Groceries, prescription medicine and the visits of a helper who comes regularly, not just once. The helper photographs every delivery: what was bought, for whom and when. What exactly we buy
